Pavan is an accredited ICAO Accident and Incident Investigator and was a finalist in the first Innovation in Aviation Safety Management Awards made at the European Safety Symposium. She is a safety professional with experience in the areas of effective safety interventions and sustaining change in aviation risk management.

She consults and advises in the development and embedding of safety risk management into organisations, through workshops, diagnostic tools, data analysis and promotion of best practices. Pavan has training and facilitation skills in Safety Management Systems, Fatigue Risk Management Systems, Safety Leadership and Safety Culture, Human Factors, Just Culture, Error Management and Investigations.

Pavan held a senior management position as Safety Manager for Titan Airways responsible for leading and managing the implementation of an effective Safety Management System, developing in-house tools for safety management, undertaking risk assessments, conducting investigations, safety training, safety auditing, safety data analysis and liaising with the CAA. Pavan also held the position of Head of Aviation Risk Practice for RTI, consulting and training Aviation clients globally. She is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
