How do you react when something goes wrong in your organisation?

How do your systems support those involved or affected?

Do you automatically suspend/stand down your staff following an incident?

How do you best work with those who want answers immediately?

Do your post event actions and systems support a Just Culture?

This one-day workshop works with you and your multi-disciplinary teams to answer the above questions.  Together, we will explore your post event management infrastructure, behaviours and values to ensure that they are consistently fair to those involved, whilst managing risks to as low as reasonably practicable.

Using a learning teams approach and breakout throughout, we will work with your management and any key stakeholders to explore the following elements of your post event management:

  • Initial management, immediate post event
  • Interim management
  • Final investigation
  • Implementing recommendations
  • Sustainable learning/risk reduction

During the workshops there will be focus on your core principles of post event management and key objectives of the process for the above phases.  We will examine what is working well and areas for improvement, to inform your Post Event Management Plan.

The outcome of the workshop will be a practical plan, that your team will co-design for tangible improvement of post-event management in your organisation.  The plan will be centred, assigning agreed actions and timescales, including:

  • Assignment of who is responsible and/or accountable for implementation of changes
  • Who needs to be consulted and consideration of who needs to be Informed and how this can best take place.

Safety Management Desktop Review

To ensure that your documentation supports being consistently fair to those involved, whilst managing risks to as low as reasonably practicable, we can conduct a desktop review.  Sample documents that can be reviewed, can include:

  • Relevant parts of the Safety Management Manual, sample investigation reporting lines and processes, sample investigation reports, follow up actions and communications.

Insight Discussions

Following the desktop review, we can facilitate insight discussions with members of your staff, to explore how the post event management system realistically works for them.  This can help formulate bespoke exploration questions, for areas requiring a particular focus, during the workshop.
